This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the United Kingdom Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps taken by xBook (“xBook”, “we”, “us” or “our”) to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains during the relevant financial year.

xBook is committed to conducting its business ethically, transparently, and responsibly, and to respecting internationally recognised human rights standards. We recognise that modern slavery and human trafficking are serious global issues and affirm our zero-tolerance approach to any form of forced labour, bonded labour, child labour, or human trafficking.

1. Organisation Structure and Business Overview

xBook is an education technology platform specialising in interactive learning systems that combine structured educational content with digital simulations, multimedia learning tools, and analytics-driven learning experiences. xBook operates as a dedicated platform entity within the broader TUT Brand ecosystem and is responsible for the development, delivery, and operation of the xBook platform and related services.

xBook’s activities include, but are not limited to:

• Digital platform development and software engineering;
• Instructional design and interactive content production;
• Collaboration with educators, subject-matter experts, and educational institutions;
• Provision of online learning tools and services to learners, schools, and partner organisations.

xBook primarily delivers services through digital channels and remote working arrangements. Our workforce consists of employees, contractors, and contributors engaged under lawful, transparent, and voluntary contractual relationships.

2. Our Commitment to Preventing Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking

xBook is committed to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place in our organisation or in any part of our supply chain. We uphold the principles of dignity, fairness, and respect for all individuals involved in our operations, including employees, contractors, contributors, partners, and suppliers.

Our approach is informed by:

• Compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015;
• Alignment with internationally recognised human rights principles;
• Ongoing awareness of ethical responsibilities within the education and technology sectors.

3. Risk Assessment and Due Diligence

Based on the nature of our business, xBook assesses the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking within our direct operations as low. Our core activities are knowledge-based, digital, and intellectual in nature, and do not involve high-risk sectors commonly associated with forced labour.

However, we acknowledge that risks may exist indirectly through third-party relationships, including technology service providers, content contributors, operational support services, and other external partners.

xBook undertakes proportionate due diligence measures, which may include:

• Assessing the nature of services provided by suppliers and partners;
• Requiring compliance with applicable labour and human rights laws through contractual terms, where appropriate;
• Investigating and responding promptly to any identified or suspected risks of modern slavery or human trafficking.

Should a potential incident or risk be identified, xBook will take appropriate action, which may include engaging with legal advisors, implementing corrective measures, reporting concerns to relevant authorities, or terminating relationships where necessary.

4. Policies and Governance Framework

Code of Conduct and Ethics

xBook maintains a Code of Conduct and Ethics applicable to all employees, directors, officers, contractors, and contributors. The Code sets clear expectations regarding lawful conduct, ethical behaviour, and respect for human rights, and expressly prohibits any involvement in modern slavery or human trafficking.

All personnel are expected to comply with the Code and to report any actual or suspected breaches through designated internal channels. xBook maintains a non-retaliation policy to ensure that concerns raised in good faith are addressed without fear of reprisal.

Employment and Working Practices

xBook is committed to fair, lawful, and transparent employment practices, including:

• Voluntary employment relationships;
• Compliance with applicable wage, working time, and employment standards;
• Non-discrimination and equal opportunity;
• Provision of a safe, healthy, and respectful working environment.

Supplier and Partner Standards

Where appropriate, xBook requires suppliers and partners to comply with all applicable laws and regulations relating to labour practices, human rights, and ethical conduct.

5. Training and Awareness

xBook recognises the importance of awareness and education in preventing modern slavery. While the risk profile of our business is low, we are committed to ensuring that relevant personnel understand our ethical standards and obligations.

6. Continuous Improvement

xBook acknowledges that combating modern slavery and human trafficking is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to continually reviewing and enhancing our policies, procedures, and practices to ensure they remain effective, proportionate, and aligned with legal and ethical expectations.

7. Approval and Publication

This statement has been approved by the authorised governing body of xBook and is made in accordance with Section 54 of the United Kingdom Modern Slavery Act 2015.
